Last weekend we had some friends from Costa Rica visiting us and we took them to <a href=”Panama“>Panama City for a day. Of course they wanted to see the <a href=”Panama“>Panama Canal and as luck would have it, a cruise ship was pulling into the Miraflores locks just as we were arriving.

Notice how tight it is, I don’t think there was a foot left on either side!

Then we took them to the Amador Causeway and to historic Casco Viejo where we saw the sun set over the Bridge of the Americas.

As we were returning to the car, we met this beautiful woman and her girl wearing polleras, the traditional dress of <a href=”Panama“>Panama. They graciously posed for us. Sorry for the crappy flash picture.

Pixie

We got a little sister for Cleopatra. Pixie is a very small cat that was undernourished and dehydrated when we got her. After one week she’s already doing much better and she’s playing hard with her larger sister. She’s really affectionate too! It’s funny to see this tiny cat  hiss and spit at our 75 lbs German Shepherd!

More Blue-crowned Mot Mot

Since this bird shows up at dusk, I have limited light to work with and I had to use high ISO settings (up to 5600). Thankfully, my Nikon D700 performs really well at such high ISO settings.

Cleopatra

Meet our latest family member, Cleopatra. This cute little kitten decided to adopt us last night.

Insurance Pictures

Yesterday I took some pictures of the house for insurance purposes. We’re very nearly done, taking possession of the last module (master bedroom) tomorrow. The pool is nearly ready to fill as well, hopefully by the end of next week.

Lost Forever…

Unfortunately I was not able to recover anything from my database. It appears that someone hacked into my site and deleted the database. On top of that, I was relying on my Hosting Service to do backups but for some reason their backup process had been broken for a while so there was no viable backup for me to recover from. So I have lost some 4 years of blogging and that is rather discouraging. I now have my own automated backup in place, and I still have all the pictures I had posted, so it is now just a matter of rebuilding the links and starting fresh like a new blogger.

It is unfortunate that all the good information I had posted on our <a href=”Panama“>Panama Adventure has been lost. I apologize if you came here looking for it and couldn’t find it.
